About the Company
Established in July 2023, Tulsa Shakespeare Company produces exceptional staged works of early modern and classical theater to enrich the culture of Tulsa and the surrounding area.
Shakespeare wrote for the “groundlings,” the common person who paid for the cheap seat. We want to bring the bard down from the lofty perches of academia and scholarly debate and return his works back to the audience he intended through accessible and magical theatrical experiences.
Our goal is to harness Tulsa’s history and cultural diversity to build a repertory theater company that contributes to the city’s economy, edifies the population, and allows artists of all skill levels to grow in a professional setting.

Accessibility
We offer accessible pricing for all of our performances. This includes student and educator discounts as well as one pay-what-you-can performance, where attendees can pay anywhere between $5-35. We also ensure all of our performances are in ADA-compliant venues.

Education
U.S. News & World Report ranks Oklahoma as #47 in education. TSC helps bolster both arts and literacy education in northeast Oklahoma. Currently, we offer an in-school workshop and performance designed to help middle and high school students develop a strong Shakespeare foundation. TSC also believes education does not end after graduation and hosts workshops for adults on performance and decoding Shakespeare’s text.
To schedule an in-school workshop, fill out the form below.
Check our “Upcoming Events” page to learn about educational workshops for adults.
Performance
Tulsa Shakespeare Company produces two main stage shows a year: a fall tragedy and a spring comedy. We open auditions to Shakespeare novices and experts alike. Company members receive preferential casting, but we also prioritize casting new-to-us actors in each show.

“Take your busted brain to one of these shows. Whatever minor resistance you might feel when meeting one of these plays IRL is totally worth enduring for the human adventure—from the intimate machinations of an individual soul to the tragic, ridiculous expanse of sociopolitical reality—that's waiting on the other side.”
